| W Bro Samuel J. Leon was installed as the 51st Master of Lodge Mark Owen on the evening of Wednesday 10th July. The ceremony was beautifully conducted by W Bro Michael Owen who received his Past Master's jewel from RW Bro Peter Eden representing the Grand Master and also a 50 year Membership Certificate from his uncle Bro Sep Owen. The fun and festivities continued at the 'festive board' the Lodge's banquet, where good fellowship, speeches and wine flowed together with the traditional singing of the Lodge Mark Owen's "Welcome Song" to our visitors. W Bro Sam Leon made a further presentation of a miniature set of Masonic 'working tools' to W Bro Michael Owen on behalf of all members as a gift of gratitude for his leadership in the Lodge's 50th year. Our new WM promised an energy filled year of progress, activity, excellent work and good fun social times. Another change marked during this night was the stepping down of RW Bro Peter Eden after 15 years as our Director of Ceremonies. We are certain VW Bro Rod Cohen will do an excellent job in this and his new position as DGIW of District 22 (which he takes over at The Kensington Centre 6th Aug). Peter's guidance and experience will be missed. We wish both of them well. |
